Antique Furniture Restorations
DURING THE WEEKEND OF THE MAD HATTERS TEA PARTY AT LADY HEYES, SAT 8TH AND SUN 9TH APRIL, WE WILL BE OPEN FOR ESTIMATES, ADVICE, AND WHEREVER POSSIBLE, ON THE SPOT REPAIRS! RING IN ADVANCE FOR MORE DETAILS.
As our many loyal and regular customers are already aware, we are located on the far side of Lady Heyes in the last large building on the right (next door to Hampton Vintage Antique Emporium), close to the exit. We are just coming up to our first anniversary in these premises.
Whilst the Sweetshop and the Teddy Bear Shop now occupies the old brewery shop, the brewing room itself is home to antique furniture restorer Patrick Young and upholsterer Mark Adamson.
We always have a selection of quality antique pieces for sale, ranging from church pews to writing desks, tables, chairs and washstands.
WELCOME TO OUR WORKSHOP!!
Welcome to our new, larger, and more customer friendly premises close to the exit, as described above. There is plenty of free parking right outside the workshop.
ALL YOU NEED IN A LOCAL FURNITURE RESTORER
Craftsman Patrick Young has over thirty years experience in the trade. Starting off as an apprentice boat builder in his teens, he soon developed a love of antiques and turned his attention to the repair of fine furniture, a skill he has honed over the years.
We will sympathetically repair and refurbish all types of furniture, specialising in older pieces but we are also adept at repairing modern furniture. From minor repairs to full refurbishments, we offer a range of services, including French polishing, re-upholstery, rattan, cane and seagrass repairs, and the repair or replacement of broken parts.
STICKY OR MARKED SURFACES? We also offer a repolishing service for "tired" dining tables, coffee tables etc.
We repair every kind of furniture imaginable, including cabinets, tables, mirrors, chairs and bureaus, from replacing delicate broken wooden decorative parts to new legs, seats etc.
We also work closely with Mark, the onsite upholsterer, who is situated around the corner next to the Tudor Building entrance. So if you have any furniture needing restoration work to both the upholstery and the framework we can help.
Most restoration work is carried out on the premises but we can make an exception if it is more appropriate to undertake a repair in the customers own home. If you have a piece which needs restoring, you can either bring it in, email us photographs (address below), or if it is an exceptionally large item we will happily come and view it by prior arrangement. Estimates are always as accurate as possible and any likely variables will be discussed in advance.
COMMISSIONS - BESPOKE FURNITURE MADE TO ORDER
We can also make bespoke items at very competitive prices, such as kitchen tables, coffee tables and occasional tables, oak beam mantelpieces, floating shelves, picture frames etc. We use reclaimed wood or new materials, whatever is requested by the customer, or considered most appropriate for the job. Chair making and copying also undertaken.
Ask to see our written testimonials and photos of previous commissions.
